We'd like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the volunteers from the City of Ventura—Tom, Charlie, Lauren, Jonathan, Chubb, and Bradley—who helped us today with maintenance on our metal storage containers. We had a lot of fun working with this awesome team on Friday, May 3rd, 2024.
Our metal storage containers house all of our Shorebird Recovery Program supplies and require regular upkeep due to the corrosive effects of the ocean air. Without regular repairs the structures will succumb to rust within a short time. We've been trying to coordinate this all spring and it came together really quickly when the City of Ventura suggested they send a team out for a group project. We are deeply grateful for the coordination and expertise provided by this team! We will be doing part 2 in a couple weeks, to apply the second coat.
We also wish to express our deep appreciation to our generous supporters whose contributions to our recent Raise the Roost fundraiser provided the materials necessary for today's maintenance efforts. A big thank you to all of our supporters for making this possible!"
