NOVEMBER 2021 - "CARING FOR WILDLIFE AT CALIFORNIA WILDLIFE CENTER"

Presentation Summary: The presentation will be an overview of what we do at CWC that focuses on our avian patients. It will include how we raise orphans, medical procedures we provide, what we do when a patient comes in, how we enhance an injured wild animal’s stay at CWC, and many pictures of past and present patients.

Speaker Bio: Denys Hemen is originally from Alabama where he attended Auburn University and attained a bachelor’s degree in Zoology. He started as a volunteer at California Wildlife Center in 2007 and has worked as part of the marine animal rescue team, hospital technician, facilities manager, and now the hospital manager. His passions at CWC are working with songbirds and enhancing/repairing enclosures. Outside of work he enjoys being a dad to his 3 ½ year old son.
