Speaker Bio: Award-winning photographer, filmmaker, and instructor, Rich Reid has specialized in environmental and adventure photography for more than three decades. Since 2008, he has been guiding guests worldwide as a National Geographic Photographer aboard Lindblad Expeditions fleet of ships. He started his career as a photojournalist at the University of California, Santa Barbara and since then has shared his photography passion operating photo tours in Alaska, teaching Visual Journalism at Brooks Institute, creating environmental documentaries, and presenting his work on a nationwide travel film circuit. He was awarded the Fellows Award from North America Nature Photography Association for his exceptional service to the nature photography industry. His dedication to conservation is highlighted in his multimedia projects protecting our oceans, open spaces, and wildlife. His photography and multimedia have been represented by several agencies including National Geographic Creative. He has worked on assignment with numerous environmental non-profits and several publications including National Geographic Adventure and National Geographic Books. His work has been published worldwide in all forms of media. When not traveling and photographing worldwide biomes, Rich can be found hiking and biking the trails in his hometown of Ojai, California.
